The Vaser Smooth Procedure
Preparation
About three weeks before and after your procedure date, you will need to pause smoking and alcohol intake. Two weeks before the treatment you will also need to avoid taking medications that thin the blood. Not ingesting these products will help you have a positive and healthy experience.
Twelve hours before your treatment you will need to fast from everything including water. The morning of your appointment, shower but do not apply products like lotion or perfume.
We recommend you wear loose-fitting clothes that can be easily removed. You will need to arrange for a friend or family member to drive you to and from the appointment. Make sure you have an area of your living space where you can recover peacefully and comfortably.
A Vaser Smooth procedure typically takes between 1 to 1.5 hours, and patients are able to return home the same day.
The treatment begins with a small 4mm incision. A local anaesthetic is then administered beneath the skin to numb the area. Once the area is prepared, the Vaser Smooth probe is inserted and gently moved back and forth to emulsify the superficial layer of fat and promote skin retraction. The fibrous bands responsible for the dimpled appearance of cellulite are then carefully released.
Next, Dr Grant Hamlet uses a specialised surgical instrument known as the Hamlet Sweeper, which he personally designed for the Vaser Smooth procedure.
